Itinerary

This 3-day pilgrimage tour covers Madurai, Rameswaram, Agni Theertham, Ramar Patham, Dhanushkodi, and the APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial, providing a comprehensive spiritual and cultural experience in Rameswaram.

Day 1: Madurai - Rameswaram−

Upon your arrival at Madurai Airport or railway station, our representative from South Tourism will warmly receive and assist you with your onward journey to Rameswaram.

On the way, make sure to stop and take in the stunning views from the Pamban Bridge, India’s very first sea bridge, which offers breathtaking sights of the Bay of Bengal.

Once you check into your hotel in Rameswaram, you’ll have the rest of the afternoon to unwind or explore at your own pace. In the evening, immerse yourself in spirituality with a visit to the famous Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlinga temples, known for its impressive corridors and beautiful Dravidian architecture.

Day 2: Rameswaram+

Begin your morning with a divine Darshan at the revered Ramanathaswamy Temple, a sacred landmark deeply connected to Lord Rama’s path in the Ramayana. According to mythology, Lord Rama worshipped here to atone for the sin of defeating Ravana.

Admire the temple’s renowned corridors, adorned with 1,200 intricately carved pillars. Don’t miss the chance to take a holy dip at Agni Theertham, one of the 64 sacred water bodies in Rameswaram. Visit Ramar Patham, believed to bear the footprints of Lord Rama on a hilltop with panoramic views.

Explore the intriguing floating stones, believed to be part of the legendary bridge built by Lord Rama to reach Lanka. Later, pay homage at the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial, honouring the life and contributions of the beloved former President and scientist.

Day 3: Rameswaram - Madurai+

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and start your return journey to Madurai. Before that, visit Dhanushkodi, a town destroyed by a devastating cyclone in 1964, which is now re-emerging as a popular tourist destination known for its haunting ruins and serene beauty.

Continue your journey back to Madurai for your departure. A representative will assist you with the transfer to the airport or railway station based on your flight or train schedule.
